Dai Wuguang was born in Hengshan Village, Hsin-Chu County, Taiwan, in 1943; graduated in the Dept. of Fine Arts of National Taipei Teachers College, and National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The works of Dai is specialized in elaborate and impressionistic styles, which fully shows aesthetic sense. He often uses the village life as subject. The concise and forceful touch and tone, which master well upon the characteristic of object and the artistic conception. As a result, all the flowers, birds and trees he painted, which looked so vital, and so real.
In recent years, Dai tends to focus more on the compositional sketch than else. Dai emphasized that without the futuristic of compositional sketch, then there’s not any visual effects that would impress people. Dai also keeps exploring the principal of “The Art of Lao Tzu”.
Started from 1972, Dai’s works have been exhibited extensively. The exhibitions took place at numerous art galleries and museums, such as Apollo Art Gallery, Taiwan Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and National Museum of History, and vice versa. He used to serve as director-general in the 1st Association for Education Through Art Republic of China, and the judge for National Art Exhibition; Presently, he is concentrated on arts creation. |
